The Green Fairy
Absinthe, the nearly mythical drink.
Drove French painters and poets mad, or more likely the tripple of choice of mad French poets and painters.
But they painted some good pictures of (on) it.
I have been reading up on it, because I finally got to try some the other day.
I was driving home, so no exploring the green depths for me, but the whole spoons and sugar cubes ritual, makes it all seem somewhat illicit. And it is kinda cool, I don't think there are enough rituals in modern life.
Anyway my overwhelming impression was, well anise. Could have been the brand. Perhaps I need to sample more.
