Odd fact

Apparently under s23 of the Wellington Waterworks Act the City Council has the power to enter dwelling houses 'in order to examine if there be any waste of misuse' of water supplied by the Council. They don't by all account exercise it much (ever) and the Law Commission thinks that it is one of the powers of entry, search and seizure that we can safely repeal. With which I have to say that I agree. In the mean time however, I am making sure none of my taps drips.
