Mixed grill
On the plus side, Mr Rat seems to have vacated. All the screaming must have helped, oh and finding his hole and plugging it.
On the negative, I am feeling tired and in desperate need of a holiday. I don't know how many more Herald special features and dialogues on immigration I can take. And just when you think it can't get worse fresh reasons to despair crop up.
Like the Pacific Ecologist I recently indexed, which is basically the NZ edition of the Ecologist. It had an article by Edward Goldsmith (Sep 2002 Ecologist, Spr 2002 PE), one of the leading lights of the Green movement, in which he confuses Roger Bacon and Francis Bacon.
No wonder nobody takes these people seriously.
Now getting your Bacons mixed up is something that I find fairly unforgiveable, since Francis B, (his life, crimes and works) and medieval history and philosophy happen to be is two of my recent reading projects, but it is the poor editorial skills, that saw the mistake published not once but twice that really appall.
From which we can only conclude that I really am turning into a librarian.
