Anniversary Day

One of the more odd and meaningless public holidays. It comemorates the founding of Wellington Province, which doesn't exist any more.
Still not complaining about having a day off.
It hasn't been particularly relaxing. I turned over my compost pile and transfered a couple of bark bags full of the stuff to a bed that I am trying to build up. Since I am completed unused to physical labour, I'm now completely buggered and fancy an afternoon kip.
Probably won't though. It is going to be a warm humid night, what with the remnants of a tropical cyclone in the air, so it will be hard enough to sleep anyway.
We have in fact had very un-Wellington like weather all weekend.
Must be that global warming thing.
