Inland Revenue have finally fixed the systems error that has been screwing up my account, coincidently just days after I go around to writing a snotty letter complaining about their lack of progress. I had not actually gotten around to sending it, I mean no hurry right? I was sitting on it so I could edit out some of the snark. But no need now, it is, apparently, sorted. Well they sent me a letter saying that they had fixed it. I haven't actually got any evidence of it yet. Still hopefully there is now one less low grade worry in my life.
I am not surprised that it took them forever, well 8 months, to sort it out. After all it is not as if I was going to take my business elsewhere, you don't get the option of changing tax departments because their service sucks. Well I suppose I could move countries but I imagine the problem is the same all over. And at least I wasn't hounded to the point of suicide, which the IRD has a bit of a reputation for doing. So, yay!
